Apple iPhone 12 series launch: Tech giant Apple is set to launch its new line up of smartphones in India tonight. The Apple launch event will kick-off at 10:30 pm. The event takes place less than a month after the company launched two new iPad and Apple Watch models.

The event takes place less than a month after the company launched two new iPad and Apple Watch models. This year the Apple iPhone launch was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading up to the launch, several leaks and rumours have given us an idea about what to expect from this year’s Apple iPhones. Here is a look at all details.  

Apple iPhone 12 models

Multiple reports have suggested that Apple is set to launch four iPhone 12 models this year, catering to different set of users. The four variants Apple is expected to launch are - iPhone 12 Mini (5.4-inch screen), iPhone 12 (6.1-inch screen), iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch screen), and iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch screen). Apart from the iPhone 12 smartphones, Apple is also likely to launch a new HomePod Mini smart speaker or a set of over-the-ear headphones, as per some reports.  

 

Apple iPhone 12 series prices in India (expected)

While the official prices will be announced during and after the launch, reports suggest that the iPhone 12 range may start from $699 (Rs 47,586) for the iPhone 12 Mini. The iPhone 12 could cost $799 onwards (Rs 58,400), and the iPhone 12 Pro will start at a price of $999 (Rs 73,000). The iPhone 12 Pro Max could cost $1,099 onwards (Rs 80,340).

The Apple iPhone 12 models are likely to come with company’s A14 Bionic processor, along with iOS 14. The iPhone 12 Pro Max may come with up to 6GB of memory. Storage options are slated to range between 64GB to 512GB across all variants.

The iPhone 12 is said to get dual-camera units, while the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are expected to get triple camera units. All Apple iPhone 12 variants will come with Apple's Super Retina XDR display panels.

To keep the cost down, Apple had removed power adapter from its new Apple Watch and iPad variants launched in September. A similar approach can be seen with the adapter for the iPhone 12.
